Import substitution as an effective instrument of restoration of the Russian aircraft industry

The article discusses modern approaches to the application of import substitution policies with the aim of successful implementation of the program at the state level. An organizational and economic mechanism is proposed for developing criteria for the effectiveness of import substitution in enterprises of high-tech industries. The current trends in the development of aircraft engine industry are examined and the main problems of increasing the competitiveness of Russian aircraft manufacturers are analyzed. The article concludes that it is necessary to intensify efforts to promote a promising program of domestic import substitution, especially in the context of an impending economic crisis caused by a large-scale virus epidemic.
