Import substitution of crop production in the Rostov region

Devaluation of Russian ruble in 2014 put an end to the country`s growth of food imports, but also made accelerated import substitution an urgent task. Countries with significant abundance of farmland and opportunities for extensive low-cost agricultural production, are the leading net exporters of agricultural products. Russia could stand this row using available natural resources. Agrarian policy should be aimed administrative procedures enhancement with shifting focus from subsidizing to reforms of institutes and creation of incentives of new areas of planting and processing.
