Property rights of the church according to the testimony of the codex Justinianus

This article investigates the foundations of the economic activity of the Christian Church at the earliest stages of its development. The article considers the present subject based on the legislation of the Codex Justinianus as the most complete collection of imperial constitutions relating to the Church of the period of interest. Therefore the basis of the economic activity of the Church was founded on the legal regime of the Roman Empire and directly dependent on it.
