Management indicators of library and information activities in the field of political education in Germany

Тhe article deals with the problems of realization of the social function of German information library institutions in the field of political education. The concepts of political education in Germany and their reorientation from educational structures to other information and communication institutions of German society, including such as German libraries, are considered. The problems of creating a system of indicators in the field of political education in German library statistics, public opinion polls and quantitative studies of the national library and information system are raised. On the basis of quantitative research, the position on the special status of libraries and their users in the lands of the former GDR is substantiated.
