Individual values and environmentally responsible behaviour
Бесплатный доступ
A large body of research has addressed the question of what explains individual differences in environmental attitudes and behavior. Environmental behavior may include personal consumption behavior, travel and transportation behavior, recycling, resource use, and active participation in environmental organizations. Various explanatory models have been applied with varying degrees of success. The article examines the most popular concepts of values used to explain pro-environmental behavior of people: Schwartz’s value system, the concept of value orientations and the theory of the value basis of caring for nature. Within the framework of modern views on relational values, the use of ecopsycho-logical interactions has been proposed to explain environmentally responsible behavior.
