Information activity of the Sovinformburo in Kuibyshev (1941-1945)

The author discusses aspects of the information and propaganda activities of the Soviet state during the Great Patriotic War. The main instrument of its implementation was the Soviet Information Bureau, formed on June 24, 1941. The author pays attention to the main activities of this department during the stay of the Sovinformburo in Kuibyshev. The relevance of the research lies in identifying and reasoning the key role of this stage in the formation of the structure and functioning of the Sovinformburo. The researcher emphasizes the importance of the activities of the Soviet Information Bureau for the popularization of the achievements of the USSR abroad. The author provides an overview of the arguments by which the leading role of the Soviet Information Bureau in organizing information and propaganda activities in the international arena and the creation of a positive image of the Soviet state in the mass media of foreign countries is established. The contribution to the coordination of the efforts of various non-governmental public organizations to assist the USSR in the fight against German aggression is noted. The difficulties and shortcomings in the work of the Sovinformburo are analyzed. Based on archival materials, for the first time the address of the location of the Sovinformburo in Kuibyshev was established.
