The authors have proposed and created the system for evaluation of a composite pyrological index on base of a complex of natural and anthropogenic factors determining vegetation. It has been found out that pyrological index corresponds to the density of vegetation fires. It can be used to identify trends in the characteristics of seasons, in order to develop long-term programs for modernization of fire monitoring, taking into account the forecasts for changes in climatic and socio-economic conditions in a particular area.
