Information-searching system “Collection funds of botanical gardens”

The project dealing with the formation of the Information-Searching System that unites collection funds of Russia and the contiguous countries aims on the first place the creation of an available source of information on the collections of botanical gardens and dendrologic parks of Russia. The project ensures constant accumulation and generalization of different collections’ databases: arboreta, perennial herbaceous plants, protected plants (on the first place, cultivated ‘ex situ’) and plants of green-house collections. The got data were processed with the help of “Calypso” - a program for plants registration, used as an instrument to prepare data for the Information-Searching System (ISS). Now we are forming the list of greenhouse plants on the base of the data received from the largest green-houses (MBG RAS, Moscow and BIN RAS, St-Petersburg). On the latest stages we plan to actualize the information on separate botanical gardens. One can get the more exact data on the concrete samples in the very botanical gardens - the holders of the concrete plans. The ISS provides information about addresses, phones, e-mails and sites of botanical gardens.
