Information space: analysis of the definitions

The article analyses the semantic field of the notion «information space». It reviews the definitions offered in the national literature, reveals different approaches to the interpretation of this term such as territorial, technological, social, functional, evolutional, noospheric. Related notions such as «information field» and «information environment» are considered. Main characteristics of the information space are offered on the basis of the carried out analysis. The author comes to the conclusion that information space should be considered a system of coordinates where the real world acquires sense in the consciousness of a subject
