Information technologies in the system of combating illegal forest trafficking

Introduction: the article considers the modern system of control over the harvesting, processing, transport and sale of timber in the Russian Federation, which includes the use of innovative computer technologies and artificial intelligence. An attempt is made to identify the most relevant shortcomings of the use of automated timber accounting systems from the point of view of detection and suppression of forest crimes.
