Information potential of documentation of public charity bodies on the work of the institute of guardianship and guardianship in the Russian empire

The article considers documents of rural gatherings and orphan courts on the issues of custody of orphans. These documents are considered from the point of view of their use in scientific research in the field of statistics, local history, as well as in genealogical research.
