This article describes the main benefits and challenges of the use of IT and communication technologies in pre-school education. The following problems are identified: the problem of children's health maintenance while working with a computer, the lack of teachers' willingness to use the IT technologies in the development of pre-school children, the lack of theoretical and methodological foundations of IT elaboration in pre-school education, the lack of some technical equipment in kindergartens.
