The results of infrared spectrometry of the structure and composition of amber-like fossil resins from four Cretaceous deposits from various regions of Bulgaria are presented. The analysis of received data shows that all the samples differ by their structure and composition and belong to various resin types that is proved by their various geological history. The received data allow extending boundaries of understanding of mechanisms driving to the formation of different resin types and determining their new varieties, which were not included in the known classifications.
