Innovative activity in the economic space: assessment and comparative analysis of the macro-regions of the Russian Federation

Today, more and more attention is paid to the importance of innovation. At the same time, the globalization of technological innovations has become a characteristic feature of the modern world. Innovation is the leading driving force in the economic development of countries. It is only thanks to the achievements of science and technology that individual countries can benefit from global competition. Developed countries have focused on technological competition, which involves the introduction of innovations and the creation of a model of economic growth based on innovation. This combination effect makes it possible to make the transition to a knowledge society. The article presents an assessment of the innovation activity of the Russian Federation for 2010-2021. The purpose of the article is a spatial analysis of the innovation activity of the macro-regions of the Russian Federation and an assessment of the contribution of regional innovation processes to the all-Russian growth rates. As a means to achieve the goal, the study conducts an empirical analysis of the data for the period 2010-2021.
