Innovative development of Russia and its regions' economy in terms of food embargo

In the context of globalization, political and financial instability, aggravated with the sanctions directed against Russia, and consequently food embargo which is put forward by Russia in the response to Western countries one of the priorities for the domestic economy is to develop innovatively focused development paradigm. The relatively high dependence of Russia from import transformed it into one of the largest exporters of raw materials with poorly developed national production in the most sectors of the economy. The aim of the study was to analyze innovative activity in the country and its regions on the main indicators characterizing the level of innovative activity. The article describes the main problems of the international geopolitical situation of modern Russia, analyzes the dynamics of the main indicators in the field of innovation in Russia and its regions, and gives the ranking of innovative activity of the Siberian Federal district.
