Innovation technologies for raising fertility

The author examines the experience of application of the assisted reproductive technologies (ART) based on in-vitro fertilization (IVF) for raising birth rate in Russia. Today it has become an effective tool of the pro-natal policy furthering increase in birth rate, first of all by treating infertility that is diagnosed among 15-17 % of the population of reproductive age. Bioethical and financial aspects of ART demand their accurate regulation and the inaction of laws allowing application of particular methods in the practice of public health care. As a result of entering IVF in the list of the quota hi-tech medical care, the number of children born with its help in Russia is annually growing, and now, by official statistics, it exceeds 0,5%.
