Institutional approach to research of cross-border cooperation in light of implementation of PRC project «One belt - one way»

The article discusses the correlation of concepts of «cross-border cooperation», «trans-border cooperation», «regional international cooperation». Cross-border cooperation is considered as an institution distinct from the trans-border cooperation and that institution is included in the system of the institutions of the regional international cooperation. The authors have proposed an institutional approach to the disclosure of the concept of the cross-border cooperation. The authors have characterized the concept of the institution of cross-border cooperation in several aspects. The formal and informal aspects of the concept of the institution of cross-border cooperation were highlighted. As a formal institution, institute of cross-border cooperation is a set of formal norms and rules that regulates the economic activity of the economic agents in the field of the border territories.
