Institutions of public participation in the strategic planning of social and economic development of municipalities

The article examines the institutional conditions for participation of wide layers of society in the strategic planning of Russian towns' development. The important role of public representatives in the territorial strategic planning can play a non-governmental organization. The participation of non-governmental organizations in the development and implementation of the strategic plan should be one of the regulations that govern the municipality development. Non-governmental organizations can use strategic planning as a tool for the realization of their long-term interests that will find a positive response in the local community.
