The possibility and effectiveness of using a check questionnaire (checklist) for the prevention of transfusion-associated circulatory overload (TACO) were estimated. TACO risk factors were found in 66.7% of oncohematological patients who need red blood cells transfusion. In this group of patients, the pulse and blood pressure before transfusion is significantly higher than in patients without TACO risk factors, with a decrease in the pulse after transfusion. The use of the checklist for the TACO prevention mobilizes physicians to intensify preventive measures, in particular the diuretics administration before transfusion in 78.1% of patients. Concentration of natriuretic peptides in the blood of recipients should be included in transfusion monitoring standards.
