Experimental verification conformed strong correlation between spectral gamma logging (SGL) and cuttings analysis data for clay composition study that confirms the reliability of both methods for clay content evaluation. The integration of SGL and cuttings analysis minimizes misinterpretation risks: cuttings provide the reference points for SGL calibration, and continuous SGL data ensures an accurate depth correlation. The combined technology of SGLLWD with continuous cuttings analysis is under field trials. The key objective has been defined as enhancing algorithms for integrated processing of heterogeneous data using AI to achieve followings: realtime generation of continuous formation property models while drilling; identification of secondary reservoirs; reliable formation boundary mapping (particularly in horizontal wells); reservoir characterization; optimization of drilling operations (coring point selection, well completion).
