Integration processes in forest management and forest protection in Russia and China

The study focuses on the ecological and economic problems of transboundary cooperation in forest management and forest protection between Russia and China. It substantiates the approaches to analyzing and evaluating the integration processes in greening the economic activity. The structure of factors affecting integration processes is generalized. The characteristics of the forest sector are given, and the Sino-Russian integration schemes in the above-mentioned fields are revealed. The research analyzes the mechanisms and tools for promoting sustainable ecological and economic development of the territories under consideration. It is concluded that the partnership in forestry is unequal, since it is more consistent with China’s social and economic development while Russia faces the environmental risks of raw material development. Current mechanisms and instruments of environmental and economic policy in the field of forest management and forest protection of neighboring countries remain flawed. However, they provide the basis for addressing the tasks of ecological and economic development of the territories inspired by the principles of the sustainable development.
