Fiber pressure sensors based on higher-mode propagation analysis are discussed. An integrated realization of such sensors is proposed, which includes the phase element as an on-fiber microrelief for the designed mode excitation, not requiring the mode content analysis of the output beam. Results of numerical simulation of fiber excitation with the use of the on-fiber microrelief and the beam propagation in a microbend fiber are given. The results obtained confirm the possibility of designing integrated fiber pressure sensors based on the transverse mode selective excitation.
