The integrated interactive system of numerical forecast of the Arctic Ocean ice and hydrological state, which was developed in 2020-2024 in the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, allowed uniting two models within one technology, using their advantages and minimizing their drawbacks. Two types of the information exchange procedures are realized within the integrated interactive system: (1) exchange within the same model between its versions with different spatial resolutions, the nets with smaller spatial step telescopically correspond to those with larger spatial step; (2) exchange between two independent models, that gives an opportunity to use the results of one model both as the initial (boundary) conditions and as given forcing when running another model. The tests of the integrated interactive system carried out in 2023-2024 were timed to real operational hydro-meteorological support, and included the short-range ice and hydrological forecasts at the Northern Sea Route area. The tests demonstrated high effectiveness, operability and reliability of the integrated interactive system, as well as the quite satisfactory quality of the forecasts. In the nearest future the technology of wind waves forecasting will be integrated into the system, that will promote increasing the quality of wave processes forecasting in the Arctic. Thus, the integrated interactive system of numerical forecast of the Arctic Ocean ice and hydrological state is principally ready for usage for the operational specialized hydro-meteorological support of the maritime activity in the Arctic, including the North Sea Route.
