Internet as ideology: alternative community and alternative reality (interpretation of information revolution in modern left views)

The author describes the evolution of approaches to Internet analysis in the modern critical theory: starting with utopian hope to make the Internet the basis for the transition to "community of equals" and destruction of existing power hierarchies and finishing with attempts to organize "war of positions" inside the nets to undermine the power relations which formed Internet. Also it is shown that presented approaches are based on the attitude to Internet as to sublime object with transcendental features.
