The interpretation of biblical and patristic texts in the Latin scholasticism (on the example of Thomas' Aquinas "collations")

In this article the Thomas' Aquinas attempts to use the biblical and patristic quotations for basing the doctrine, which he states, are considered. The analysis of quotation methods by Thomas shows, that he permits deviations from the original and is not always logical when proving his theses. He alters the hierarchy of authorities, nominally following from the sources to the dogma, but actually adjusting these sources to wordings he needs.
