For the research of language variation it is useful to consider not only the influence of the linguistic factors, such as language evolution, language economy, language analogy etc., but also the extralinguistic context, for example, territorial, stylistic, stratificational, and situational variations of language. Conditioning of German adjectival variant flexion illustrates our thesis.
