Intra- and postoperative complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy

The analysis of 3500 laparoscopic cholecystectomies was carried out. Conversions are 2.2%. The most severe complication includes damage of common bile duct (0.17%). Mortality for this complication is 33%. The overall mortality is 0.09%. With the accumulation of experience a number of complications is reduced. The correct selection of patients for this operation is necessary.
