Introduction new gene sources broomcorn millet for breeding under the conditions in the Middle Volga region

The article presents the results of the study of the world collection of broomcorn millet VIR on the grounds of coarse grain, resistance to pathogens smut, bacteriosis and melanosis. From 95 samples of the collection VIR formed a distinctive-feature collection of broomcorn millet of new genetic sources, including: coarse grain - 20 numbers; resistance to: smut - 8 numbers, melanosis - 45 numbers. Bacteriosis on plants millet in the current year was not observed.
