The article seeks to disclose the content of the concepts of the region's competitiveness and investment. The article introduced the definition of "economic buyer" who consider the territory as a platform for the deployment of new businesses and attract investment. The analysis revealed significant problems to raise additional funds and the impact they have on the socio-economic indicators of the region's development.
