Irrationalization and intensification of attribute in German literary expressionism

This article is dedicated to German Expressionism. Based on analysis of lyrics and short prose the article shows the attribute as an important element of the language picture of the world of expressionism. As the key characteristics of the attribute resulting from the common subjective expressive tonality of the texts and determining the specific features of functioning of representative units are revealed irrationality and intensity, which, in turn, are provided by a variety of stylistic means and methods.
