Artificial sound environments: Creation, modelling, application

Бесплатный доступ

The article considers the conception of artificial soundscapes created with the help of computational models, algorithms and mathematical formulas. Such auditory environments have a high degree of dynamism and are able to adapt to changes in real and virtual space, which make them be in demand in the film industry, video games, music production and exhibition projects. The key principles and advantages of creating artificial soundscapes are analyzed. The scientists and experts in the field of sound design presume that further development of interactive sound will be closely connected with the procedural generation technologies. The research shows that the use of sound databases and probabilistic methods makes it possible to create adaptive sound environments in which auditory elements change in dependance of the user ‘s actions, creating the effect of developing natural sound space.
