The paper discusses the problem of artificial ethnogenesis in the framework of the domestic policy of the People's Republic of China. The author considers the most popular hypotheses of the Zhuang nationality formation and investigates the possible reasons for the viability of the artificial ethnogenesis theory. The search results in a presentation of a political motivation for the GZAR organization within the framework of the PRC territorial policy hypothesis. The classification creation, delimiting the national composition of Zhuang into the closest subgroups by language along with material culture similarities had a positive impact on the quality of work. The result of the work confirms the theory of artificial ethnogenesis of the Zhuang nation significance and scientific authority. Moreover, the most probable reason for organizing an artificial Zhuang community was identified and scientifically substantiated, presumably related to the general doctrine of the PRC's territorial policy. This study is of value in the framework of the PRC national and territorial policy studies. The article may be of use for China southern regions researchers.
