Art and boundaries: experience of problem comprehension

This article discusses the art without boundaries. The key issue is the problem of differentiating between art and non-art. In the author’s view, in order to see what constitutes a boundary between art and non-art, it is essential to take into account the social institutionalization of this distinction. In this respect, the author considers institutional theory of art which is linked with the performative speech acts, i.e. the speech act that makes any objects a work of art. In this context, a further question naturally arises - who has the right to pronounce such judgments? After all, the art is not merely a production of objects, it is also a way of introduction them into the specific and intricate system that is commonly known as the world of art.
