Use of the Ilizarov fixator for treatment of gunshot high-energy femoral injuries

Gunshot wounds to the hip by high-speed wounding shells and shot from close range require the use of saving treatment tactics. In these conditions, the Ilizarov method is the most suitable of all the existing methods. Clinical examples of treatment of patients with gunshot wounds are presented. Out of 14 patients, 10 had compact shotgun wounds, and 4 had bullet wounds. Good clinical results were obtained. Unsatisfactory results of treatment were noted in 2 cases with damage to the main vessels.
