Use of libraries in the propaganda activities of the nazis in the temporarily occupied territory of the USSR

The author studies the system of ideological influence of German Nazism on the population of the occupied territories through the implementation of cultural policy, the key direction of which was the work on opening libraries and reading rooms in the zone of occupation. Examples of destruction and looting of funds of national libraries are given. The role of specific departments of the Third Reich and their leaders in the development and subsequent implementation of destructive cultural and library policy is revealed. The participation of librarians in countering the propaganda influence on the population in the zone of occupation is determined.
