Information and telecommunication technologies as a means of committing violent crimes against the person

Introduction: the article investigates certain problems of the use of information and telecommunication technologies as a method of committing violent crimes against the person, discusses types of cyberbulling. Materials and Methods: the materials of the study are statistical materials, materials of criminal cases, judicial practice. The methodological basis of the study is a general scientific dialectical method of cognition of social phenomena and other methods. Results: attention is drawn to a large list of violent crimes against the person, which can be committed with the use of information and telecommunications or digital technologies. Understanding the ways of committing these crimes is necessary for the development of measures to counter them. Discussion and Conclusions: the Internet, especially its shadow segment Darknet, digital technologies provide opportunities for committing a significant part of crimes against the person. The conducted analysis gives grounds to assert that almost all violent crimes against the person under Chapters 16 and 18 of Section 7 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation can be committed with the use of information and telecommunications or digital technologies. As a consequence, we combined these crimes into one group.
