The use of coal as a source of humic acids

The article presents the results of a study of the process of extraction of humic acids from the organic mass of coal. To increase the extraction efficiency, the technology of chemical modification of coal by acylation with acetic acid, alkylation with ethanol, nitration, sulfonation was used. By treatment with alkaline solutions, organic products are obtained - humates, initial and modified coals. The data obtained on the difference in the optical density of humate solutions and the volumes of the formed precipitates of humic acids suggest a significant role for the chemical modification of the coal mass in the extraction of organic products.
