The distribution and variation of magnetic susceptibility (ƒ) in soil profiles of a paleocryogenic complex of the Tula area is investigated. In the formation of highly magnetic minerals the significant role of organic substance, and also redoks-processes is revealed. It is shown, that within constant depths ƒ varies only slightly in the upper part of the and in fossil soil and significantly - in subhumic part of modern chernozem. The revealed distinctions in spatial variability of ƒ sizes in many respects are connected with presence paleocryogenic processes which create different conditions for existence of ferriferous minerals.
