Using maple tree waste for water objects treatment from iron (II) ions

The article discusses the possibility of using maple tree waste as a sorption material for water purification from iron ions (II). The experiment was carried out on model water contaminated with iron sulfate (II) with an initial concentration 100 mg/dm3. For comparison the values of sorption capacity parallel similar experiment was conducted with a cation exchange resin KU-2. According to the results of experiments showed that the treatment efficiency is 88,15% and 95,48% for the maple tree waste and cation exchange resin KU-2, respectively. However, because in both experiments the residual concentration of iron ions does not comply with the MPC, the sorption material in question can be used for pre-cleaning step.
