Testing of gas turbine engines (GTE) is an essential part of their life cycle. Tests are carried out both for newly created engines and for commercially available engines before their delivery to the customer. When testing industrial GTE intended to drive electric generators, pumps, blowers, etc., there is the problem of disposal and the measurement of produced power. There are several types of brake devices designed for utilization of GTE power: electric, pneumatic, hydraulic. Each type of brake device has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, the main drawbacks of an electric braking device, which is a generator, is its high cost, as well as the problem of recycling the electricity produced by it. The pneumatic device is an air compressor. The pneumatic brake utilizes the power produced by the GTE, compressing the air. Creating and designing compressors is a complex and expensive task. This explains the high cost of pneumatic brake devices GTE. However, if you use an existing compressor as a pneumothorosis, you can significantly reduce the cost of developing a pneumatic brake, as well as reduce the time of its creation. This paper describes the process of designing a pneumatic brake for utilization of 25 MW power at a rotor speed of 5000 rpm and a power of 32 MW at a rotor speed of 5500 rpm.to reduce the cost of development, it is proposed to carry out a project of a pneumatic brake on the basis of an existing low-pressure compressor (CPV) developed and produced by PJSC Kuznetsov. One of the main requirements in the development of the pneumatic brake was a minimum change in the design of the existing base compressor, as well as the minimum production of new parts.
