Selection of young athletes is one of the key directions in preparation of trainees for highest achievements sport (elite sport). The medical and biological indices of children going in for callisthenics are analyzed in the article. Hundred children aged 5-10 years participated in the study. Experimental data allowing significantly improve the efficiency of athletes'' selection going in for callisthenics was obtained.
