A algorithmic methods for estimating optical cell parameters for recognition of different types of leucocytes by their microscopic images captured in transmitted light are described. Granulocytes, monocytes and lymphocytes can be identified by relative transparency and granularity (presence of expressed internal structure). To illustrate the application of cell identification methods in cytometry the results of leukocyte analysis of real blood samples are shown.
