Applying new free software products in professional vocational training

The paper concerns the problem of insufficient readiness of the vocational academic organizations to applying free software, transition to which is required in the Strategy of the Information Society Development in the Russian Federation. A way to solve this problem may be found in improving skills of the vocational personnel on these matters. Regional approaches to arranging retraining of vocational teachers on applying new free software products are reviewed.
