The article analyzes the solution to the problem in the study of the mechanism of a complex rotational movement of an athlete's body in exercises' flight phase, when in a somersault with turns a supported rotation occurs simultaneously around the broad and longitudinal axes of an athlete's body. The studies revealed, the bigger rotation around the longitudinal axis given by the support is, the more the axis deviates from the plane in which the general center of mass of an athlete's body moves in flight, and the more an athlete «lies on his side» in terms of fixed observation, which can not be recognized as a technical error.
