One of the most important issues is the formation of a database for accounting and rational use of agricultural land. To this end, Bulungur district of Samarkand region intends to study the possibility of using GIS technology in creating and accounting for databases on the types of agricultural land. In the course of the study, land accounting issues were carried out on the basis of generally accepted standard methods, and the database was created using programs belonging to the family of GIS programs that are widely used today. The database consisted of two parts. The first part of the database is devoted to the available land resources in the region and the level of their use. That is, the existing land fund in the region, the state of their use in various sectors of the economy, including agriculture, types of crops, yield, soil assessment scores and other information. The second part of the database contains legal information on the use of land resources. The area of arable land in the district as of January 1, 2019 is 28,137 hectares. Of these, 15,637 hectares are irrigated land, 12,500 hectares are arable land. The area of perennial forests in the region is 8357 hectares, of which 2191 hectares are orchards, 2278 hectares are vineyards, the remaining 888 hectares are mulberry groves.
