Study of susceptibility of Candida parapsilosis clinical strains isolated in different hospitals to antifungal drugs

We evaluated and analyzed levels of susceptibility to modern antifungals for clinical strains of the pathogenic fungus Candida parapsilosis, which often causes nosocomial infections in resuscitation and intensive care departments. We determined systemic drugs highly active in vitro against C. parapsilosis, which may be used for therapy of invasive infections: echinocandins (anidulafungin, caspofungin, micafungin), voriconazole, amphotericin B. Before therapy with fluconazole it is necessary to determine drug susceptivility of the isolated strain of C. parapsilosis.
