Investigation of changes in color characteristics of flax fiber in the carding process

The article contains results of an experimental study of changes in color characteristics of flax fiber in the carding process, conducted under production conditions of the RUPTE «Orsha Linen Mill». Analysis of the color characteristics influence on the spinning ability was conducted. The statistical models for predicting spinning ability of long scutched flax, hackled flax and flax tow based on their color characteristics were developed. The models which describe relationship between the color characteristics of a long scutched, hackled flax and flax tow were developed.
