The study of the phenomenon of Russian abbreviations in the new century

In recent years, due to the rapid socio-political, economic and cultural development, abbreviations also show an astonishing rate of development. In both spoken and written Russian, abbreviations play a great role, facilitating both oral and written speech. In the late 19th century, especially after the October Revolution, Russian abbreviations began to appear in large numbers and quickly became popular. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia underwent fundamental changes in both its political system and ideology, and these changes led to changes in the Russian language, primarily in its vocabulary, with Russian abbreviations being among the most significant. Today, with the rapid development of technology and the spread of the Internet, with closer communication between countries, abbreviations continue to grow irreversibly, both politically and economically, as well as culturally and educationally. This article examines various aspects of the composition, semantics and changes of abbreviations in politics, economics and other fields, compares and analyzes some traditional and new abbreviations through meaning and rhetoric to arrive at various changes and characteristics of the development of abbreviations in the new century.
