The study of geographical variability of spruce provenance trials in Kostroma region

The article discusses the results of experiments on growing seedlings of spruce seeds obtained from different regions of the European part of the former USSR. The data on the effect of geographical origin and characteristics of seed parent populations on the growth and survival of spruce in plantations phases engraftment and earlier closing on different indicators. The coefficients of correlation to growth rate in the age ranks are defined. The northern and eastern provenances grow slowly. Best ecotypes at the end of preceding closing phase are identified.
