To calculate reinforced concrete structures, you can switch from material deformation diagrams to structural deformation diagrams. The latter indicates the dependence of the force on the deformation. This is the dependence of the bending moment on the curvature or angle of crack opening for bending elements, as well as the dependence of the longitudinal force on the longitudinal deformation for Centrally compressed elements. For non-centrally compressed elements, as a rule, we are talking about the dependence of the bending moment on the curvature of the element at various fixed longitudinal forces. The presence of longitudinal and transverse reinforcement significantly affects the type of concrete deformation diagrams, which is confirmed by numerous studies of the behavior of reinforced concrete under short-term loads. At the same time, the percentage of transverse reinforcement does not affect the coefficient of dynamic hardening. Unreinforced concrete is more affected by the rate of deformation propagation than reinforced with indirect reinforcement.
